How do we know Natural Spirituality is true?
Natural Spirituality is based on easily observable precepts that can be reached by any rational person.
It is elegantly simple and yet deeply profound. If we were to boil it all down to a single expression. We could say that Natural Spirituality is about a transformation of consciousness where you come to accept the obviousness of the simple truth.
- You get Natural Spirituality by rational assent and that is how we know it is true. Believing something doesn't make it true. This is something that you have to realize is true for yourself. Each person must review the evidence of their own lives and decide for themselves whether to accept it or not. However when it comes to religion and philosophy there is a lot more to the question of whether or not something is true. —
- While most people would like to think we are rational beings. The hard reality is that without specific training human beings are very rarely able to be rational. More often than not we try to get things by playing the believing game. The believing game is a term for the mental experience of a "feeling" strategy for forming perceptions. The believing game is where; you believe things you don't understand and you don't understand what you believe. You don't want to know what you don't understand and you don't want to examine what you believe. This creates a loop where all you do is try to "feel" right. Whether or not what you "believe" is true or not is irrelevant. What you want to do is keep the feeling you get from believing. You WANT to believe and you NEED to be right. Primarily because if you are wrong then that means something about you and that will make you feel bad. Since you will do absolutely anything not to feel bad the only option you have is to discredit, distort, delete and disavow anything that appears to challenge or contradict what you believe. You believe because you need to believe. This is the believing game. Natural Spirituality is not something you accept because you believe it. Natural Spirituality has nothing old or new to believe in therefore by default it has no one to "believe in" and no story to believe. This is not something you can get by playing the believing game. This isn't something you feel is true or you agree with because it feel's right. You can only get this by rational assent. There is no way to know if it is true unless you experience it for yourself.
- Often we are not aware that we do not actually think for ourselves. We are programmed by our environment to think by consensus or groupthink. You can observe this phenomena whenever people encounter something new. When people encounter something new, they groupthink they immediately look to a source of authority to “make sense” of it. It's like we need someone “we can believe” to tell us it’s OK. Groupthink is where you conduct a consensus among your peer group or circle and come to a conclusion that has the best social value for you. Its where you judge a thing’s validity by how other people react to it. The honest truth is that the very idea of thinking for ourselves is something that terrifies human beings. We like to imagine ourselves as individuals but we don’t want the responsibility of being an individual. Let me say that again. Everyone wants to feel they are an individual and they are special but few people want to accept responsibility for being an individual or the work it takes to truly be special. Consequently they do not under any circumstances want to own what they believe. Unfortunately The simple truth is we are unable to think for ourselves because we never learned how to think. It is the part they left out in school. Thinking is a skill and to get a skill requires training. Training requires that you first accept that you don't know, then you have to allow yourself to be taught, then you have to practice until you get it right and then practice some more until you can't get it wrong. This is how you get a skill. Now that means effort and hard work. Most people don't want to make the necesary effort and fewer still want to do the work. Consequently most people only know how to believe. Believing takes very little effort. It means we can get the feeling without doing the work. So we invest in the believing game and use intuition as a compass. Asking is something is true is really like asking for permission to believe it.
- Unfortunately Natural Spirituality is not something that you believe. This is something you have to choose to know, for yourself and by yourself. You have to make a personal choice and accept sole responsibility for that choice. In this instance you have to be an individual, and accept full and sole responsibility for what you believe. For many people that is a scary experience because it is something they have never really done for themselves. Truth is not something you believe. Believing something doesn't make it true. Truth is you have to accept and it is the acceptance part that we as human beings choke on. When you get right down to it the reality is that there is a difference between knowing the truth and accepting the truth. Knowing the truth “of yourself” is something that you can only realize by surrendering to the learning process. Everyone wants to learn but few people have the humility to be taught. What further complicates this is the fact that it’s not the "knowing the truth" part that we fear and that we worry about. Most people know right from wrong, they just don't care and that is perfectly natural. It is the acceptance of the truth that we fight against and that we truly fear. Accepting that something is true especially something that rejects what you believe is moral terror. If you accept the truth then you have to change, everything has to change and change means work. You don't really want to make the effort to do that, that sounds crazy. Think of all that you will lose. Forget about truth and the search for truth. All you need is a search for reasons to believe or not to believe something. In this way you can manage the way you feel. After all you want to keep what you have and get a little more. You are not looking to give up anything. The bottom line is you don't believe anything because it is true. When it comes to what you believe whether something is true or not, ultimately, is irrelevant.
- Natural Spirituality is elegantly simple but deeply profound. Natural Spirituality is not something you believe. Believing something does not make it true therefore if you accept the truth then you have to give up what you believe. As Que, an adherent of Natural Spirituality, we accept what is true for each of us, individually. You choose to learn this body of knowledge because knowing it makes an invaluable contribution to the quality of your thinking. Changing the quality of your thinking changes the quality of your life. This is truly one of those things that no one can tell you if it is true or if it is right for you. No one can live for you and no one can die for you. No one can tell you why you would want to know the truth about yourself. This is something you have to choose to know and come to own it for yourself.

| Natural Spirituality is a body of knowledge and a practice. It is not a faith. You do not accept it because it is true and something else is not. It doesn't work that way. It is not something you believe. It is something you do because you understand its value. No one can sell it to you. You can't make yourself believe it. Understanding is something you have to realize for yourself. If you are not looking for truth then chances are you don’t need it. If you are looking to be right about what you believe then you don't need anything or anyone to prove anything to you. Any reason is a good reason to believe anything. Truth is not something you believe. Truth is something you allow. This means that with Natural Spirituality the question you need to answer for yourself is whether or not you are going to allow yourself to learn the truth about yourself. It is not a question of true or false. Knowing the truth has a price. The price is what you believe. The question is what are you willing to give up to get the truth? Are you willing to risk what you believe? Education is not free. Are you willing to pay the price? This price has nothing to do with money. Whatever you spend on tuition is negligable. You will always make more money. The price of learning the truth is change. Are you willing to change? Truth is a choice. You have to choose it, by yourself and for yourself. All we promise is to show you is how. All we are offering is an education. Why you want that education is something you have to figure out for yourself. No one can give the truth to another. Truth is something you must discover, for yourself. The question is are you willing to risk what you believe to find out the truth? There is no context independent language therefore there can be no context independent truth. The question is what do you accept as true.
